The Figuerie candle rests in a celadon glass of almost mineral paleness, hand-blown in Tuscany and adorned with the House's golden coat of arms, the first gesture under the artistic direction of Hugo Ferroux, which inaugurates a new chapter for Trudon without betraying its heritage. The inspiration comes from the Potager du Roi in Versailles, from this Figuerie that Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinie had designed to satisfy Louis XIV's passion for figs, seven hundred varieties grown as espaliers against walls warmed by the sun of the Île-de-France. The fragrance plays on exactly this same chiaroscuro: cedar leaves, fig leaves, and ether humus at the top, with that raw, damp greenness of spring greenhouses, before hyacinth, copaiba, and a botanical bouquet establish a more carnal depth. Sandalwood, tonka bean, tasuki patchouli, and moss crystals close the composition in an earthy and resinous sweetness that evokes less the fruit than the soil in which it grows. To be placed near a south-facing window, for the days when you want to bring a little bit of Versailles home.
