Rooted in Kurashiki, the very cradle of Japanese textiles, Cottle transcends mere fashion; it is a dedicated research atelier. Toshi and Yukari craft "uniforms for life," seamlessly merging age-old weaving techniques with a contemporary vision. Each creation emanates a rare soul and profound human warmth.
Their philosophy is an obsession with the invisible detail. From organic cottons of extraordinary density, to natural dyes (Indigo, Kakishibu) that beautifully patinate over time, and hardware often hand-cast by local artisans. To wear Cottle is to feel the very weave of the fabric and the rich legacy of Japanese craftsmanship against your skin.
About this selection
Kurashiki, in Okayama prefecture, is one of the historic heartlands of Japanese textiles, the cradle of selvedge denim and ancestral dyeing techniques. It is from this region that Cottle draws its identity: a Japanese brand that works with local artisans to create clothes in which material, dye and craftsmanship matter as much as the cut.
Cottle specialises in traditional Japanese techniques, notably kakishibu, a natural dye obtained from fermented persimmon juice, used for centuries to protect and colour textiles. Exposed to light, this dye darkens and develops a patina over time, so that each garment evolves and becomes unique. Hand-washed denims and sturdy cottons complete this authentic and sustainable world.
Our Cottle women's selection highlights two emblematic pieces of this craftsmanship. The Orchestra coat in brown kakishibu dye offers a loose, enveloping silhouette with warm, living tones that will grow richer over the years. The anorak jacket in washed indigo denim revisits workwear with high-quality Japanese denim, to be worn open over a dress or closed over wide trousers. Artisanal Japanese women's clothing in natural dye and denim, designed to last.
At Actuel B, we offer a Cottle women's selection in our boutiques in Avignon and Arles as well as on our website, with delivery in France and internationally. Each piece is presented by teams trained in the brand's world, with the personalised advice that defines our approach to multi-brand luxury.
