AN ODE TO FREEDOM.

Born from Issey Miyake's radical vision, Pleats Please is the triumph of design over constraint. Here, the technique is inverted: the garment is cut and sewn three times larger than its final size, before being machine pleated. This unique process gives the fabric a permanent shape memory and architectural elasticity. It is the quintessential uniform for modern life.

Wrinkle-resistant, airy, and compact, these pieces are designed for travel and effortless movement. Silhouettes are fluid, colors saturate the space. A universal elegance where the garment never constrains the body, but accompanies it in every gesture.

About this selection

Issey Miyake devoted his career to an essential question: why should clothing constrain the body rather than free it? In 1993 he launched Pleats Please, a line built on a revolutionary pleating technique: the garment is first cut and sewn two to three times larger, then heat-pleated. The result is a light, crease-resistant fabric that follows every movement and is machine washable.

Pleats Please Issey Miyake is for women seeking elegance, comfort and practicality all at once. The pieces roll up in a suitcase without ever losing their shape, dry in a few hours and span the seasons. The colours, bright or deep, and the graphic prints make each garment a wearable work of art.

Our Pleats Please women's selection covers the whole wardrobe. Pleated trousers are a must: wide blue trousers, wide navy trousers with side slits, Thicker Bottoms 2 in fir green and City Collage in blue and yellow. The tops, loose in royal blue or roll-neck in black and chocolate, the short navy jacket with tailored collar and the taupe high-neck cardigan create graphic silhouettes. The long sleeveless taupe dress, the short dress with graphic print and the navy V-neck jumpsuit offer complete outfits in a single piece. The pleated cap and the black Madame-T stole complete a pleated wardrobe that is ideal for travel and everyday life.
