The Church's Consul has been in continuous production since 1945 on last 173, making it one of the most accomplished Oxfords in English shoemaking. The calf leather upper receives a polished binder finish: the grain is sanded then replaced by a pigment that progressively builds an intense, mirror-like depth of black. The double stitching on the cap toe and quarter are the only embellishments of a silhouette of absolute sobriety. Goodyear construction, leather sole.
