Mortel Noir does not introduce itself; it imposes itself. The black lacquered bottle, designed by Pauline Deltour and topped with a ribbed glass cap reflecting the Maison's signature codes, is already a statement of intent before the fragrance even opens on the skin. Its 27% concentration formally places it in the perfume category, going beyond the original Mortel eau de parfum, of which it radicalizes every accord.
Yann Vasnier, an ISIPCA graduate trained at Givaudan, creates a composition of almost brutal frankness: Madagascar black pepper and nutmeg attack the senses without preamble, electric and dry, before Somali incense and Mystikal expand the composition into something both more solemn and more carnal.
Benzoin, myrrh, and cistus labdanum absolute close the scent in a resinous and animalic depth that lingers on the skin for hours, slowly evolving into a smoky, spellbinding sweetness. A fragrance for evenings when you do not wish to go unnoticed.
