The Church's Consul has been produced without interruption since 1945 on last 173, making it one of the most accomplished oxfords in English shoemaking. The calf leather upper receives a polished binder finish: the grain is sanded then replaced by a pigment that progressively builds an intense, mirror-like black depth. The double stitching on the cap toe and the quarter are the only embellishments of a silhouette of absolute sobriety. Goodyear construction, leather sole.
